Meet Our Team

Proudly building the legacy of our family-owned business since 1979.
Founders

JOHN & DOROTHY SIMPSON
John and Dorothy, known to family and friends as “Pop and Mot,” founded S&A Machine in 1979. He worked as a machinist for many years, growing the business from the ground up and teaching several young men the craft and trade along the way. She would work in the office, making sure that everything ran smoothly for the shop and at home. They raised 5 kids along with others they would take in and love as their own, hoping to make this world a better place than what they found it. John “Pop” retired in 2002 after successfully growing the business and passing it down. He would come in from time to time to check on things but loved working at home on his woodworks to give to friends and family. Always wanting to give a gift, a laugh, a smile. “Mot” and “Pop” were married for almost 63 years before John passed on from this life, leaving a legacy behind to his children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. “Mot” still gets out and enjoys life, spending time with her family and friends, making sure that their legacy is still carried on. We are thankful for the lives they have led/continue to lead and hope to make them proud.
President/CEO

DAVID SIMPSON
David has been a part of S&A Machine for many years, first as a machinist to now owning the company with his bride of 32 years, Michelle. They took over the business a few years ago, keeping it within the family as a multigenerational business. David learned the trade from his father and our founder, John Simpson, who was also known to many as “Pop.” David trained and grew as a machinist under the watchful eye of Pop until he went to join the United States Marine Corps from 1988-1992. After his time in the Corps, David resumed his career at S&A and has grown into the machinist and business man that he is today. He has been in the machining world for approximately 37 years and is able to perform on any machine with precise detail. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, grilling and cooking out, and anything outdoors! He never meets a stranger and hopes to continue to grow the business and help with whatever is needed. When we say that S&A is a family and multigenerational business, we mean it!! Here are a few others we would like to introduce you to.
Machinists

Welder

BARRY HEATH
Barry, longtime coworker and family friend, has been working around S&A since the beginning! He started welding at a young age, working primarily on rail cars and at a large fabrication shop. He continued to grow in his trade under our founder, John “Pop,” and has worked with us since. Barry became well versed in machining and welding, working with us full time from 1992-2003. In 2003, Barry went on to enjoy life with his bride, Mrs. Betty. They can be found riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with their family. Barry came back to work for the machine shop part-time as our welder, helping to teach and bring his unmatched experience to the business. We are thankful for the years that Barry has worked with the family and helping to share his knowledge with the newer generation of machinists and welders alike. Thank you, Barry, for your hard work and as “Pop” would say, keeping up the good spirit!
Office Manager

LEANN SIMMONS
Lastly, but certainly not the least, Leann! Leann has been our office manager since David and Michelle bought the business. She helps with pretty much everything here! Of all the friendly faces here, Leann will be the first one you see. She manages our day to day operations, helps to make sure people and companies receive their product in a timely manner, and keeps all of these gentlemen in line! Her hobbies include spending time with her husband, Steve, and their children, spending time outdoors whether that is relaxing or getting work done, and spending time with her family and friends! We are thankful for all of the work that she does here and helping to maintain proficiency and efficiency. Thank you, Leann!!!
